Having trouble paying your telephone bill? Stay connected affordably with telephone discounts through Minnesota's Telephone Assistance Plan (TAP) and the federal LIFELINE Program.

If you are a low-income household or are enrolled in government programs, like SNAP or Medical Assistance, you qualify! Our telephone discounts can help you stay in touch. Low-income customers can receive affordable telephone service. The federal LIFELINE Program and Minnesota's Telephone Assistance Plan (TAP) connects you.

Once you receive confirmation that you qualify for either program, call Albany Fiber Communications at 320-845-2101 to begin receiving the monthly discount.

Telephone Assistance Plan (TAP)

TAP offers a $10.00 per month discount on home landline telephone service.

Minnesota TAP Application

LIFELINE Program

The federal Lifeline Program offers a monthly discount of:

  • $5.25 on landline telephone service
  • $9.25 on a wireless telephone service
  • $9.25 on a broadband internet service account

Enrollment in the TAP program is automatic for Enrollment for Lifeline recipients.

Use Lifeline credits to reduce the price of broadband Internet service. You can also use it to reduce the price of landline service.
